HOTTAL, AB, From the first, DEAN DON PRIOR, graduate of Union College, put the fellows at ease with his hearty handshake, warm welcome, and sincere interest in each one individually. Mrs, Prior and Cindy also have won a place in the boys' hearts. Mr. Prior teaches driver education to Bill Borris, Don- alee Guptill, and their fellow sophomores. Baby Gary arrived too late to appear in the '55 Lo- dian Light. Assistant Dean of Boys I. W. Mrs, Crowder teaches home ec and Spanish. LORRAINE C. CROWDER, AB Home Economic: Spaxgah Whether it is dressmaking, home furnishing, tailorf ing, pattern making, budgeting, or drawing house plans, MRS. CHOWDER is the one most able to help the girls. Alter studying under her, they are better prepared to struggle with but- tons and plackets, or to decide the color scheme ior their dreamhouse. ln her Spanish classes, she emphasizes the back- grounds and history that develop in the stu! dents a broader understanding ot the peoples of other lands. lncidentally, some ot the students say that they really learn their English grammar in her Spanish classes. .An all-around triend is Mrs. Crowder, wife ot the Bible instructor. A typical HOME scene is that ol Mrs. Crowder finishing a dress for daughter, Ivalaine-this time one to match mother's. Bobby always enjoys a story from his dad. Nadine Ensminger's SEWING must be most interesting. if one is to judge from the ex- pression on Vickie Gillespie's and Gloria Wemer's laces!

Mr, l-lottdl has a knowledge ot almost every recreational activity and is skilled in many ot them. His goal in the aym is to give everyone a chance to participate. Dean Prior is otten seen on the ball field or in the ayrn winning the admiration of liis boys just as surely as he has won their respect in the dorm. ln his physical education classes this year he is empha- sizing health and character building through wholesome recreation.
