THE GOLDEN EAGLE Presented by The Annual Staff of Lodge Grass High School Editor..........................Liz Whiteman Assistant...................John Neatherely Art Editor..................Sharon Stimpson Photo Editor.............Clarnece Westbrook Business Manager...............Mary Ann Shaw Advisor.....................Elmer O. Freedle Members Bernadette Stewart Lavonn Little Light Lavonne Good Luck Kelly Laughery Ursula Bad Horse Kris Pilkington Connie Hogan Gwen Wolf Clara Alden Jessie Mason Marcia Willoughby ’’TONY YARLOTT IN MEMORIAM The name of Franklyn Yarlott-Tony-to all who knew him, will be remembered at the Lodge Grass Schools as the man who was a diligent worker. He was always willing to lend a willing hand to the many student projects and always ready with a smile to brighten any occasion. Death - April 26, 1964 We, the class of 1965, would like to dedicate our annual in memory of Tony, to show our appreciation for the many wonderful deeds he did for us, and for just being the Great Guy that he was. 2 FA C UL TY SUPERINTENDENTS MESSAGE MR. MILTON MOLSBERRY, Superintendent Young people today must be increasingly aware of their great heritage. As members of a free society they must value their independence above all else. As all of our organizations and industries become more complex we become more dependent upon such a variety of outside influences that inde pendence has a tendency to become less than real--however--in a free society the opportunity still exists for those who are willing to seek success by their own independent action and initiative. This willingness means that the individual will work long and hard at whatever task is available. Even in a society as great as ours, success and achievement will not seek out the individual. 4 HUGHL. ARTIST------PRINCIPAL I feel that it is indeed a privilege to encourage young people to attend school. We all know that with all the demands for advancement in the field of learning being greater than ever before, we must continue our formal education to greater achievement to cope with the world today. Therefore, any words, acts, or expressions that I may give to inspire people to go Higher, Faster, and Farther in education will be rewarded by a better world in which to live. E. O. FREEDEL —GUIDANCE COUNSELOR After inner perception, outer perception! We must face the truth about ourselves, before we can deal with the reality of the world around us. The inner world must be explored before we can plot our courses through life in the world around us. 5 HAROLD ANDERSON High School Science Eighth Grade Math MRS. STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council this year has taken over the majority of the students activities. They set up an official voting procedure in which all students must be registered voters to vote, made it so that all organizations and groups must go through the student council in order to have an activity or sponsor an activity, and see to it that the students obey the constitution of the High School accordingly. Some of the members of the Student Council took a trip to Bozeman, Montana for a meeting of the Student Councils throughout the state. They brought home with them many ideas and plan to carry them out for the good of the student body. Mr. Gilliard, their sponsor, has helped them greatly in carrying out their ideas and plans. Many of us started right off the bat and got in the full swing of high-school. Our Homecoming King and Queen candidates were Sharon Stimpson and Burton Pretty On Top. Our Sophomore year had narrowed down to a mere forty but the school realized we existed more and more because members of our class were getting honors and awards quite readily. Our Junior year for us was the best of all. We numbered thirty-five this year. The Junior class seemed the best of the classes that year for our Homecoming King and Queen candidates won as did our candidates for Best All Around, who happen to be Candy Pease and Tony Pease for Homecoming and Candy Pease and Bill Yellowtail for the Best All Around awards. Bill Yellowtail was also picked as the best-athlete. The Senior year is just mid-way and we cannot give you an accurate remembrance so we will just say the best class in the history of Lodge Grass graduates in 1965. 15 KELLY MEEKIER LAUGHERY If silence is golden, he will someday be rich. What year do you wish, alright, 1985. Yes, yes the smoke is beginning to clear. The vision is plain now. Someone is standing on the street corner of Hester and George why its Byran Bird, the local bicycle repair man, apparently he is waiting for someone. Here she comes now, its his steady girl Lovon Little Light. Hark, I hear singing. Oh yes, its Connie Hogan, Bernadette Stwert, Treva Bell Rock, Karen Driftwood and Ursula Bad Horse singing 49 songs in Madison Square Garden before a crowd of 10, 000 people. They say he specialize in early American style, that is below the chin. Oh yes he uses Gillette Super Blues in the disposable pack. Mrs. John Daniels (Gwen Wolf) and her husband are honeymooning in Palm Springs. Bill La Forge is playing for the Boston Celtics as center. The last basketball game he made an amazing 35 points, from the free throw line. Carole Bends is a waitress in the Byway Motel and Cafe. There are other plans in her future but the crystal ball fails to reveal what they are. 23 PROPHECY Rose Ann Bradley is employed striking matches for the Firestone Products Company of Burnt, Wyoming.
