CLASS MOTTO “Don’t Itch for Success, Scratch for It’’ SPONSORS President--Ken Wheeler Vice President—Gary Not Afraid Secretary-Treas. --Scott Jeffers St. Council--Ronnie Gibson CLASS COLORS Red and White CLASS FLOWER Reporter--Karen Bond CLASS HISTORY Red Rose The class of 1959 has quite an unforgettable past. As Freshmen we were initiated on September 23 as newcomers to Lodge Grass High. This was our anticipation and seemingly the biggest event of the year. Our Homecoming King and Queen Candidates were Karen Bond and Scott Jeffers. We had a nice float that took honorable mention. Our Carnival Queen Candidate was Bertha Medicine Crow. During our Sophomore year we won first place on the Homecoming float. Our King and Queen Candidates were Sidney Eastman and Lou Ella Whiteman. That year Sidney also had the honor of being chosen Mr. Leap Year. Billye Pilkington was our Carnival Queen Candidate. Gary Not Afraid was picked Best All-Around Boy at Lodge Grass. As Juniors we faced the busiest of all our school years. We took second on our Homecoming float and gave the Homecoming Dance. In March we presented the annual Junior Play, our choice was Call Me Darling. Our prom and banquet were the biggest projects of the year. They were both a lot of hard work. It took a lot of time and planning for both to be a success. Scott Jeffers and Roberta Cowles were our Best All-Around Boy and Girl Candidates. Boy and Girl State Delegates were Scott Jeffers, Ronnie Gibson, Catherine Shaw, and Sharon Micheal. Alternates were Ken Wheeler, Gary Not Afraid, Rosella Red Wolf and Roberta Cowles. This year, as Seniors, we got first place on our Homecoming float. Ken Wheeler and Annita Stevens were the king and queen candidates. Scott Jeffers got Best All-Around Boy. This year, instead of having the work, we will be honored at the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. Our biggest job this year is the annual. 11
