1955 CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1951 there were forty-four of us papooses who entered Lodge Grass High School to become big braves. We began our task with head papoose Del RitaWeibert as president. Her helpers were Donald Fenton as vice-president; Elwood Schenderline as secretary-treasurer; LuElla Faught as student council representative. Our first big hunt was initiation day when we were all scouted up to the L. We, through influence, persuaded our elder braves, the Sophomores, to do most of our work while white-washing the L. Then we had a big pow-wow and many laughs at kangaroo court. Our float won first prize at Homecoming. Our next big pow-wow was the Freshman picnic when we scouted the Story, Wyoming fish hatchery. The big chief was Alina Stevenson. Our second year of training began with thirty-six braves in the group. The top braves were: Myron Pease as president; Bonnie Wham as vice-president; Margaret Farman as secretary-treasurer; LuElla Faught as student council representative. We had become braves by now and we had the pleasure of initiating the papooses (Freshmen) who were just starting high school. Our float took second in the big race at Homecoming. Our head chief was Bob Nees. The third season of our training began with thirty-five braves to continue the course. This season's leading braves were Bonnie Wham as president; Bill Jappe as vice-president; Elwood Schenderline as secretary-treasurer; Myron Pease as student council representative. The big chiefs were Mr. Thomas and Mr. Wescott. We were very proud to present our play, The Boardinghouse Reach and the Junior-Senior prom with the theme Tulip Time in Holland. Our fourth and final season began with thirty-four braves to make the last mile. The leading braves of the season were Bob Redman as president; Arlen Whiteman as vice-president; Rodger L. Ball as secretary; Bill Jappe as treasurer and Myron Pease as student council representative. We were proud to have the responsibility of putting out the annual. Mrs. Ryan and Mr. Hoffman were our advisers and our officers were LuElla Faught as editor; Bob Redman as assistant editor and Margaret Farman as business manager. Our play of Grandad Steps Out was a big success and we again thank Mrs. Ryan and Mr. Hoffman for directing us. 5
