LESTER VORHIES Les Les has been chosen honorary captain of next year's team. He has played two years as a regular and with this experience should prove a capable leader. EDDIE LINN Linn Linn a sophomore won his letter by playing forward. With two years of competition ahead of him he should develope into a very good forward. CHARLES SHUPPY Chuck Chuck did not play regularly, but could always be depended on to re- place Herb or Sammons without any slowing up of the team. 'He should be one of the main cogs in next year's team. LAUREL PATTERSON Patterson Patterson, another Sophomore, played at guard in several of the games during the last half of the year. With two years ahead of him he should make us a very dependable guard. STANDING- -Left to Right: Gayle Heater, Charles Shuppy, Coach W. L. McMiekle, Clarence Statler Eddie Linn, SEATED -Lawrence Sammons, Herbert Smithburg, Virgle Smithburg, Lester Vorhies. Basketball VIRGLE SMITHBURG, CAPTAIN. Very Verg was captain and center of this year's team and will be lost by graduation. He was unable to play regular because of sickness, but when it was possible for him to be in the game he was valuable to the team for his close-in shots. His place will be hard to fill next year. HERBERT SMITHBURG Herb Herb played guard and always held down his man as Well as adding to the score in nearly every game. Herb's left hand shooting improved with every game and will be missed next year. GAYLE HEATER Heater Heate1 ' played forward this year and although handicapped by his lack of height he made up for that in his determination. He was always able to make a basket when it was most badly needed. LAWRENCE SAMMoNs Samfmons Sammons played guard and was valuable because of his height. He played a steady guarding game and was good at getting the ball off the bankboard. He is lost by graduation.
