I3aeebaU Although baseball was only a minor sport at the L. H. S. and no letters were awarded, the season was very successful. Lockridge won two of the four games played. The line-up for the season was: Bogner and Duttweiler, Catcher. Rupp, Third Base. Messer, Catcher. Eggenberger, Left Field. W. Rauscher, First Base. C. Zillman and Hickenbottom, R. Rauscher, Second Base. Center Field. Trabert, Short Stop. Danielson, Right Field. L. Zillman and Graff, Subs. Lockridge won the opening game of the season from Batavia at Batavia by a score of 11 to 3. The team showed up well and prospects looked good for a winning team. Two weeks later, on a wet diamond and in a shower of rain, we were defeated by Stockport by a score of 9 to 4. This game was marked by many errors. The following week we again defeated Batavia on our own diamond by a score of 8 to 0. This game was the best game of the season, neither team being able to score for the first five innings. The Lockridge boys then rallied and run in eight scores in the next two innings. In our last game of the season, and also the last High School game for nine players, we again bowed to Stockport by a score of 9 to 4. Tjrach The first track team of the Lockridge High School went to Eldon Saturday, May 7, 1927, to take part in an invitation track meet in which twenty schools were entered. We also entered the sectional meet at Fairfield May 21. This year being our first year of track, and all men without previous experience, Coach Scott has built up a team that can show any school of its size a good race. We hope that in years to come a new track will be built, and all future teams will be successful.
