Basketball The Lockridge High School, although the smallest school in the Little Five, is not the least, especially in basketball. Three years they Won the Little Five championship, last year tied for second place, and this year won third place. 'Coach Scott began the season with six letter men, and quite a number of new men to choose from. Practice began the first of December, and on De- cember 3rd, with only three practices, Lockriidge was defeated by -Packwood. liack of practice showed plainly, for the Lockridge boys were unable to hit the basket. The gaime was very rough, and hard fought. After two more weeks' practice, and the team in top-notch shape, Lockridge easily defeated Salem at Salem. Rauscher was back again and Loekridge took three straight victories. The first was with Libertyville in a rather one-sided fray, in which the second team played the last quarter of the game. The following week Lockridge battled with snow drifts for seventeen miles to Hillsboro in zero weather, and a reward returned victorious. The game was fast, with both quintets iighting to win. At the end of the time the score was tied at 21. Then a five-minute over- time period was played, and Lockridge was able to score uip one field goal and two free throws, while Hillsboro scored only one free th1'ow, thus ending the game with a score ot' 23 to 25, in favor of Lockrid-ge. One of the best games of the season was with Pleas- ant Plain on our own floor. The teams were evenly matched and each' put up a strong defense, but Lockridge
