The acTiviTies oT The chorus ranged Trom The TradiTional BaccalaureaTe To The paTrioTic ArmisTice and Lincoln Day pro- grams. Frosh-Soph Chorus The organizaTion oT The Freshmen- Sophomore glee club was a sTep Torward Toward a very brighr TuTure. The glee club consisTed enTirely oT Treshmen and sophomore girls who sang during The TirsT period oT The lunch hour. This year The girls have learned some oT The TundamenTal TacTs abour music, such as The singing oT The diTTerenT scales and The reading oT music. The schedules oT boTh choruses were arranged so ThaT boTh groups mighT sing TogeTher Tor a Tew minuTes each day. This made iT possible Tor The glee club To gain experience in a mixed group. One agonizing experience oT The Tresh- men members was Their TirsT individual voice TesT. AlThough The TesTs were never diTTiculT, everyone TelT much beTTer aTTer They were compleTed. l-lard worlc and an earnesT desire To do well were shown by The Tine perTorm- ance oT The organizaTion in The annual concerT. Assemblies and Pep Sessions Santa Claus lGeorge Smithl and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer IJeanne Biorkmanj present Bob VanDeven with a date certificate as his gift at the Christmas pep session. Gifts for the other players ranged from a bottle of Sloan's Liniment to a deflated basketball. Dan Tynor, portraying Abraham Lincoln in the annual Lincoln Day Program, greets a neighbor, played by Carene Erwin. The play presented that day featured highlights in the life of Lincoln. During the pep session for the Thornton game Victory lSimon Vancial and Lockport lHarold Werfhl were united by Bill Weems in a mock wedding ceremony. lncidentally we won that game 23-I4.
