Seeing The crowded condiTions ThaT were coming, The board oT educaTion planned Tor The sTrucTural enlarging oT The school. They also realized They musT keep up The gain in sTrucTure wiTh an even greaTer one in educaTional opporTu- niTy. This year These ideas were puT in moTion and many changes occurred. Along The educaTional line, new Teach- ers were added To help relieve The over- burdened TaculTy. A new indusTrial arTs survey course was oTTered on The l..T.l-l.S. curriculum. The FuTure Teachers Club was newly organized aT L.T.l-l.S. A double lunch period was puT inTo eTTecT. There also was a change in The procedure Tor geTTing on The honor roll. One had To have 24 poinTs To be on The roll, wiTh an A eguivalenT To 8 poinTs. l-ligh honor roll required 28 poinTs. Looking Trom The sTrucTural sTandpoinT more obvious changes occurred. As building on The new ediTion conTinued day by day, our goal blossomed inTo view. Added was a new Tlag and Tlagpole. leTT by The class oT '53. One could see many changes inside, Too. FlorescenT lighTing was placed in rooms malcing less sTrain on The eyes. Some rooms had new upholsTery and oThers had a new coaT oT painT. All These changes creaTed a more colorful aTmosphere. WiTh such advancemenT in boTh ways, one-The complexiTy oT mass and girders -wiTh The oTher-The complexiTy oT mind and ThoughT-our school has Truly shown growTh in mind and sTeel.
