H, S, Through his patience and guidance, he developed spirited young men with the eagerness and the skill needed to bring victory to their school. When the team was plagued by extraordinary difficulties and the members were inclined to give up, Coach Vandeventer brought them back to life with the words, You did your best, so continue playing to the maximum of your ability, and in the end you will succeed. Although the Lions did not reach the playoffs, we at L. H. S. knew that they were champions in the truest sense of the word. For all this help and unlimited service, we express our appreciation to Coach Clifford Vande- venter through the 1967 Stiletto. We hope that this yearbook will help everyone realize the great contribution he has made to the lives of students and teachers at L. H. S. Now that this year has come to an end, they, as well as the seniors who are leaving, have come to know and love this school These Freshmen are leaving room for the next brave group, who will be entering with the feeling which every student of LHS has had once in his twelve or more years of school life. The feeling which most Freshmen have is that of being anxious to get their high school days over, but the Seniors have a somewhat different feeling, a feeling of regret that they are grad- uatrng. if Now time has passed, and those who were Freshmen have become Sen- iors. The four years have passed, and goals that were once set for gradu- ation from Lockhart High School now lead to broader horizons. The many football games, dances, and suppers that were once highlights of our days have faded into pleasant memories that we will always treasure, The tests and the homework have all been completed, and our books await the sen- iors of next year, As we now depart and go our separate ways - to college, to work, to the armed services, or to marriage, - we look anxiously ahead to the future, But as we look back over these pages, we hope that they will help us remember that these were the happiest days of our lives, 'QQ' ,W ,,,.f W' H ww .Ji . w B 5, w , '56 if ww E if-'Ff , I 5 jf E.,.Q 1-.xg W L..
