94 LADY SAXONS RULE THE POOL WITH ELEGANCE three H ere we have the wonderful 1988-89 Saxon swimming women. Through vigorous training, these fine young ladies mastered and perfected all .aspects of the aquatic sport. Many hours before, during, and after school were put into achieving such greatness. These girls suffered through strenuous workouts, harsh ultraviolet rays, and drying chlorinated water in order to receive strong, powerful, tan bodies that glided swiftly through the water to bring them to victory. One could view their great timing and precision in the butterfly and breast stroke, which were demonstrated in the Loara pool and during the exciting meets. The 1988-89 swim season was much shorter than usual, so the swimmers were frequently kept busy with more than one meet a week. Even though the swim season was a short one, it proved to be rewarding. Coach Dan Cullinane and assistant coaches Paul Chylinsky, Mark Lake, and Jeff Nelson were the driving forces behind the swimming team. With their dedicated guidance and persistence, Loara ' s swimmers learned from helpful demonstra- tion, special pointers, and occasional voice inflections. Team members proved the many obvious similarities between woman and fish. four
