72 TENNIS TEAMS TOPSPIN TO VICTORY This past tennis season saw much improvement over last year. Many new members were added to cre- ate a strong team — among them were Jason Overell (Freshman) and Mike Na (from Minnesota). The coach described the team as one with good skills but as having a lack of confidence in those skills (Isn ' t that humble!) It was Coach Gary Cleveland ' s first year coaching the Boys ' Tennis Team. His goals for the team were to improve the skills of each player and to move towards a positive attitude. Both were achieved according to Andy Huang: We ' re giving it 110% this year. ( If not more. added James Lewis.) The positive aspects of the team were their real desire to improve and their willingness to listen. Consisting of mainly freshmen and sophomores, this year ' s JV Tennis Team was extremely young, hard working, and dedicated. Coach Tom Meylor comment- ed, This team contains a tremendous amount of raw talent. Throughout the year, the players improved their tech- nique, in turn strengthening the team.
