Here we have the unique team of dedicated jour- nalists who fight to bring better newspapers to the Loara Campus. Through research, ex- cellent writing skills, and creativ- ity, their goals were met. The dili- gent team of crusading reporters labored around the clock to bring you, faithful Shield readers, the unabashed truth. Anything under the sun that could happen at Loara was accurately covered by this group of young, journalism- loving teens. The staff was flexi- ble with its responsibilities, every person doing his or her part to get the news out. 162 The Powder Puff Assembly roared with excitement. The crowd got going with the Drill Team Leaders leading the Pledge of Allegiance. Mas- cots Dong Kim and Brian Cowan moved and shook their body parts to their favorite remixes of songs. JV Cheer and Song came out howling and yelling for their favorite team, the Juniors. Twirl- ing their flags, the Courtier Lead- ers came out showing off their hand coordination. Varsity Cheer mastered their moving pyramid. Varsity Song demolished the Ju- nior section by gunning them down at the beginning of their dance routine. Finally, the Drill Team Leaders came back to win the hearts of everyone.
