154 This year ' s Courtiers defi- nitely put forth their best effort and gained much confidence and self-satisfaction by practicing hard and achieving their goals. The leaders were Sharon Daniel (head leader). Amy Leathers (first asst. leader), Tina Howard and Kim Fitzhenry (2nd asst. leaders). The practices started as early as 6:45 a.m. and lasted until 8:45 a.m. They also practi ced after school from 3:00 to 4:30. Every single girl worked hard and prac- ticed as if she were in perfor- mance. Competition was what these girls looked forward to. At their first competition at West High School, they showed off their tal- ents and skills. The hard work at the Band Camp and school prac- tices definitely paid off. Head leader Sharon Daniel commented on the group ' s progress by say- ing, The progress of the Court- iers this year has been outstand- ing. At first they had a difficult time handling their equipment, but they were soon tossing and twirling like pros. Without a doubt, the Courtiers efforts and dedication yielded much success this past year. Good luck in the continuing saga. 88-89 COURTIERS MARCH TO THE BEAT OF SUCCESS
