right ASB AROUSES THE SPIRIT OF SAXONS IN 1988-89 The 1988-89 ASB cabinet led Loara to success. Headed by an exper- ienced president, Yvette Brink, this ASB group began the year with hard work and determina- tion while aiming to conquer the many tasks appointed to them. In addition to their many duties on campus, ASB cabinet mem- bers are required to maintain a 2.0 GPA, which is rather difficult, considering the many hours they spend organizing assemblies and making students aware of many ASB planned activities. Some of these activities included themed dress-up days throughout the year, fantastic assemblies such as our famous Homecoming As- sembly, a series of lunchtime ac- tivities, spirit week, and several student awareness weeks that brought to light the many prob- lems and concerns of high school students. Though many of the students in this year ' s cabinet are new ASB members, they have contin- ued the Saxon tradition with spirit and perserverence. Though their job is often demanding and time consuming, it is a fun and valu- able experience in leadership and organization. This year ' s ASB worked together to bring Loara to greatness in its most success- ful year yet. 143

144 The Mace, commonly known as the Student Store, is and has been, as you all know, the main source ot extra added yummy lunch bene- fits. This has remained true even though the Anaheim Union High School District has required a cut back on the edible items. Of course, this has not slowed down our Student Store. Behind the three-windowed facade lurks the dedicated team of Loara ' s stu- dents under the supervision of Mr. Joe Smith. So not only are students supplied with succulent goodies, but the staff receives credits and develops wonderful public relation skills. Upon visit- ing the Student Store students probably have noticed their smil- ing faces, cheerful attitudes, and beneficial purchasing informa- tion. In addition to the interesting array of savory items one may also acquire a school sweater, sweatshirt, PE clothes, and a plethora of valuable school sup- plies. So never serve another de- tention for being unprepared for class again. Our Student Store can meet all the desires of the Loara High School students, and yes, that does include you!
