V. VOLLEYBALL GIRLS BUMP, SET, SPIKE, AND WIN y — OUR 1987-1988 VARSITY VOLLEYBALL TEAM PLAYED EXCEPTIONALLY WELL CON- SIDERING THE INEXPERIENCE OF ITS NEW MEMBERS. THROUGH THIS YEAR ' S SEASON, THE PLAYERS GAINED HELPFUL AND VALU- ABLE EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS, BOTH OF WHICH WILL BE NEEDED FOR FUTURE SUC- CESS. STUNNING SUPER SAXONS SAVOR SUCCESSFUL SPIKES IF THERE IS A SINGLE CHARACTERISTIC WHICH EXEMPLIFIES THE 1987-88 JV-FS VOL- LEYBALL SEASON, IT IS HARD WORK. THE 1987 F S TEAM CONSISTED OF 17 OF OUR SCHOOL ' S MOST ENERGETIC, HARD-WORK- ING AND DEVOTED YOUNG ATHLETES. LED BY CO-CAPTAINS DARBI MARSHALL ( 28) AND ADENA WOODMAN ( 7), THE LADY SAX- ONS COMPLETED A GRUELING SCHEDULE ENCOMPASSING A TIME PERIOD OF SEVEN WEEKS AND FOURTEEN MATCHES! THE OLDER OF THE SQUADS CONSISTED OF A MERE 11 PLAYERS. WITH OVER K OF THE TOTAL TEAM IN ACTION AT EACH MOMENT, A SOLID WELL-BALANCED TEAM WAS NEEDED. LUCKILY, THE GOOD HEALTH OF THE TEAM WAS PRESERVED, ALLOWING THE TEAM TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL YEAR. LED BY CAPTAIN DOROTHY HSICH ( 5), THE JV TEAM MET AN EQUALLY CHALLENGING SCHEDULE HEAD ON!
