A question in the shadow n answer never to be lit The deep irony o( the anger we feel Life we must now lead Our pain was not the greater The question not as strong It followed only at the end Not before the last call The want of understanding The wish to be there We did wish. cry. scream The memories we need to keep For it is over, not said, but done Now our misery felt is the only one Finally peace would come Now the only thing left Is the word that echoes Why? The Lest Treasure I once knew of a treasure. A treasure so grand and precious It was locked away in a golden box. I searched for this box, And found it to be hidden Peep under the waters of a pond. I knelt over and looked in. My reflection was lost In the hue. Although I could not see it. The map I held marked this the spot. I then took up my sleeve. And plunged my arm deep into the abyss. The water was slimy and cold. As my hand went down. It touched upon mold. But suddenly my fingers touched It. As they caressed the box. Its brilliance warmed my body. My soul was given wings. And my heart set afire. Just then, the precious box slipped. Falling deeper, out of my grasp. So I reached farther. My arm felt the sting of leeches. But still I extended my arm. Again and again I tried. My arm soon became weak From the stolen blood. And so I removed my arm. Holding it close to my body, Thinking of new ways. But it soon became obvious. My arm was not long enough, And the treasure was not to be mine. So I looked into the pond For one final time. God gave us a mighty imagination. Because the truth can only go so far. All my life I didn ' t know The power of freedom was so near. The chains of knowledge. But with imagination they disappear. And then at once it came to me: I heard it from Angel spies. My world was split and formed again. And the hearts ' fires filled my skies. Then I prayed unto my Lord To ask if I had fallen from His grace. And in a gentle voice God said, The only way to fall is to lose faith. So now I know it is good to feel. And the man who was once the stone Thinks his thoughts and imagines his ideas. And sits upon his throne. Michael Conn

Monique Dennis LOVE Love is strong and hard io break something people easily mistake Love is strong joyous and sure And takes a lifetime to Secure. When silence is spoken The meaning is broken Like a dream interrupted at dawn One word is whispered And once it is heard The absence of questions is gone The heart is invaded the feeling is faded The word is replacing the song When feelings are growing Your love should be showing Not with words that don ' t yet belong.
