f THE 1987-88 VARSITY GIRLS ' TRACK TEAM HAD ANOTHER EXCITING AND UNFORGETTABLE SEA- SON THIS YEAR ' S MEMBERS WERE HIGHLY DISCI- PLINED AND SPENT MANY PHYSICALLY DEMAND- ING HOURS IN PRACTICE. SOME OF THE OUT- STANDING ATHLETES WERE CHRISTINA ARRIBAS. MELANIE MIDANI. LEILA CAMPBELL. AND KELLY GRATON. THIS YEAR ' S GIRLS ' TRACK TEAM WAS LED BY HEAD COACH DAVE SMITH AND THE ASSIS- TANT COACHES WILLIAM BLANTON. STEVE OKABE. MIKE BLACK. JAMES LAHTI, AND TOM HONDA. OUR LOARA TEAM PARTICIPATED IN THE BRANCO INVI- TATIONAL. THE BISHOP AMAT INVITATIONAL. THE ELDORADO MEET. IN DESCRIBING THIS YEAR ' S TEAM. COACH SMITH STATED THAT THE GIRLS HAVE WORKED EXTREMELY HARD. AND THIS IS REFLECTED IN THE TEAM ' S IMPROVEMENT AND SUCCESS THIS YEAR.
