LOARA ' S VARSITY SOFTBALL TEAM SWING THEIR WAY TO THE TOP THE VARSITY SOFTBALL TEAM STARTED THE 1988 SEASON WITH THREE WINS AND TWO LOSSES. TWO OF THESE WINS WERE SHUT-OUTS. THE TEAM HAD SEVEN RE- TURNING VARSITY SOFTBALL MEMBERS WHO CONTRIBUTED TO THE AGGRESSIVE TEAMWORK OF ALL THE PLAYERS. RETURN- ING FOR THEIR FOURTH YEAR ON VARSITY WERE SHANNON MURANY AND TAMMY NELSON. RETURNING FOR THEIR THIRD YEAR WERE KIM EVANS AND HEI- DI SOROUR. ANDREA NEITZKE, DUNYA BLEASDALE, AND KRINON LAPIHUSKA WERE TWO- YEAR PLAYERS. THE TEAM PARTICIPATED IN THE CYPRESS AND CANYON TOURNAMENTS THIS SEASON, FAIRING VERY WELL IN THESE PRE-SEASON EXHIBITIONS. JV SOFTBALL ' S EXEMPLARY ATTITUDE PROVES VITAL THIS YEAR ' S JV SOFTBALL TEAM WAS RECOGNIZED FOR THEIR EXEM- PLARY ATTITUDE THROUGHOUT THE SEASON. THEY BE- LIEVED THAT A GREAT DEAL COULD BE LEARNED AND UTILIZED FOR THE FUTURE. THIS CON- CEPT GAVE THEM AN OPTIMISTIC AP- PROACH TOWARDS ALL THINGS. MR. STARK, THE COACH OF THIS YEAR ' S TEAM, HAS BEEN C OACHING FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS, BUT HAS JUST RECENTLY AC- CEPTED THE JOB OF BEING THE COACH FOR LOARA ' S JV TEAM. THE TEAM HAD STRENUOUS PRAC- TICES EVERYDAY AFTERSCHOOL LASTING FOR TWO HOURS. THEIR HARD WORK WAS ALWAYS REWARDED DURING A GAME.
