FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW THEY BEGAN WITH ONLY SIX RETURNING VARSITY PLAYERS: SEN- IORS CHERYL SEICH AND ANNA DUARTE, IUNIORS KIM YOSHIOKA, IERI BRONSON, ERIKA REICH, AND I ODY WILKINS. IT WAS ANOTHER BUILDING YEAR EOR THE GIRLS' IUNIOR VAR- SITY TENNIS TEAM. EOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW THEY BEGAN WITH ONLY FOUR RETURNING IUNIOR VARSITY PLAYERS: SOPI-IOMORES CHRIS TROUT, IAELYN KAZEL, GEOR- GINA LEYVA, AND IONABLE SUN. I.. .- WERE MIKE DOIGNY, GLENN NEISES, AND MARK RIZZO. OTHER VARSITY TEAM MEMBERS WERE IOHN GOW- AN, IAIME EFREN, AND DON BRAD- SHAW, WHO ARE ALL EXCELLENT RUNNERS. THE TEAM, WITH ONLY SEVEN MEMBERS, WAS SMALL IN SIZE BUT BIG IN SPIRIT AND DEDICATION. DESPITE THEIR SOUAD'S SIZE, THEY MANAGED TO PLACE FOURTH AT THE EMPIRE LEAGUE FINALS. RAFAEL GARCIA PLACED IN THE TOP TEN. DURING THE REGULAR SEASON, THE TEAM WON FOUR RACES AND LOST THREE. THE HARDWORKING TEAM DID AN EXCEPTIONAL IOB. THE RE- TURNING RUNNERS ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO A BRIGHT FUTURE. THE FROSHXSOPH TEAM WAS ALSO TALENTED 'AND DEDICATED. THEY WORKED HARD THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SEASON, FINISHING WITH A RECORD OF THREE WINS AND FOUR LOSSES. THE TEAM CAPTAIN, RAFAEL GAR- CIA, SAID, WE SET GOALS FOR OUR- SELVES AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. EACH MEMBER GAVE IT HIS ALL. THAT'S WHAT REALLY COUNTS.
