1- SHARES OF A BROKEN MIRROR The forces gather side by side and penetrate the weak: every reflection is reflected at you. Your bones begin to weaken and your words begin to slur. They're bringing you back to the dreaded place where the flames of war will be ignited in your face. And these loving thoughts that enter my mind that l thought were just reminders are Qnly shards of a broken mirror that existed in my past. Shards of a broken rnirror that stab me in the back shards that l can sometimes feel ripping through my skull, Now the curtains are pulled and the lights go dim' The evil put on a deceiving grin. The chamber doors are opening and your eyes are fading white. Those feelings are so familiar' was it a year or just one night? Being pushed down darkened tunnels with emptiness at the end. l dont like awakening to footsteps on my Ceiling and hoping for just one glance of heaven just one promise of safety. The point of vision where the choice to rip out your eyes and crash your skull depends on the slow ticking clock that is nailed to the walls of hell. And in time with that clock beats the heart, the heart that pumps the same blood that drips through the crack in your mind. As my mind travels backward l realize that my recognition of this evil is no longer of any use to me' my strongest efforts will not defeat the shards of a broken mirror the shards that cover every surface l walk on. And these silver shards now covered with blood will continue to penetrate my cold skin until the full moon bleeds and the ocean erupts. FAILURE CIN DRIPPING RED LETTERSD Another day Another failure Something else went wrong He s given up for he s tried To cope for too long He was the one with so much pain So he chose to rebel He made his father beat him He made his mother yell So he cut his hair and wore the clothes And thought himself so cool He skipped his classes and failed his tests And decided to drop out of school When his parents found out It was the first time he had heard them fight It was for these reasons that he chose to run away that night . ' r . . l . f All frxqx . ,-9 Life in the streets was not as easy as it seemed A 1 He was a failure there too 'Q A It's been a week since he left and since he ate So he held up a liquor store at two ,fx And when the old man triggered the alarm It was just a reflex to fire the gun And when he heard the siren off in the distance He could do nothing but run With sirens gettin' louder, he ran down the clark, dead-end street .
