WITH THEIR TALENTED DANCING AND SPIRITED CHEERS THE SAXON SONG- LEADERS HELPED BRING SPIRIT AND PRIDE TO LOARA. WHETHER THEY WERE CHEERING AT FOOTBALL GAMES, PER- FORMING AT ASSEMBLIES, OR EVEN MAKING POSTERS, THE SONGLEADERS HELPED LOARA MAINTAIN A HIGH LEVEL OF SCHOOL SPIRIT. THE ENTHUSIASTIC SOUAD SPENT A GREAT DEAL OF TIME PRACTICING DUR- ING THE SUMMER AND AFTER SCHOOL EACH DAY. THEY ATTENDED USA IUNITED SPIRIT ASSOCIATIOND CAMP AND EARNED ALL SUPERIOR MARKS ON THEIR ROUTINES AND CHEERS. RHONDA WARD WAS THE ADVISOR OF THE SONGLEADERS AND INSPIRED THEM TO ALWAYS DO THEIR BEST. THE SONG- LEADERS ALSO HAD USA COACHES AND GYMNASTICS COACHES. THEIR HARD WORK PAID OFF AS THEY PERFORMED THEIR ROUTINES EXPERTLY EVERY TIME. DURING THE YEAR, THE SOUAD BE- CAME VERY CLOSE, AND MANY FRIEND- SHIPS WERE DEVELOPED. HEAD SONG- LEADER, BROOKE CODY, SUMMED UP HER EXPERIENCE AS A SONGLEADER BY STATING, 'ITHE FRIENDSHIPS THAT WERE MADE ON THIS YEARS SONG SOUAD WILL BE ONES TO LAST A LIFETIME! TO ME, THIS YEAR'S SOUAD IS THE BEST YET, AND IS GOING TO BE A TOUGH ACT TO FOLLOW. I'M GOING TO MISS ALL THE GOOD TIMES WE ALL HAD THROUGH- OUT THE YEAR. 'Y' 'Kd' K 1 1 M G , I .V . OHS HOMECOMING SPIRIT WEEK SWEPT THROUGH LOARA'S CAMPUS. OCTOBER BTH DAWNED AN OVER- CAST MONDAY. NOBODY WAS DRESSED UP, BUT THERE WAS A FEELING OF ANTICIPATION IN THE AIR. TUESDAY WAS AN EASY DAY TO PARTICIPATE IN: GRUBBY DAY. NO NEED FOR FUSS, IUST ROLL OUT OF BED, GET TO SCHOOL ON TIME, AND GET READY FOR THE CLASS COMPETITION, A MUNCH-OUT RELAY! WEDNESDAY GOT A LITTLE MORE AMBITIOUS: HAWAIIAN DAY AND A LIM- BO CONTEST. WHEN THURSDAY ROLLED AROUND, A PER- SON COULD SEE THE WHOLE LOARA CAMPUS REGRESS- ING. IT IUST SHOWS HOW MUCH HIGH SCHOOL STU- DENTS LOVE TO PARTICIPATE, AT LEAST IF IT MEANS ACTING LIKE A BABY AGAIN. THE IUNIOR CLASS BROUGHT IN THEIR ONLY VICTORY FOR THE WEEK. ON THIS DAY THEY WON THE MUSICAL CHAIR COMPETI- TION. THE WEEK DREW TO A CLOSE WITH THE EVER- FAMOUS HOMECOMIN G ASSEMBLY. SPIRITS WERE HIGH, PEOPLE WERE EXCITED, AND THE FUN WAS NEVER END- ING. IT WAS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL HOMECOMING HERE AT LOARA! Shelly Farrel and Sabrina Lewis sing out their love tor Loara on Lit- tle Kids Day. The gorgeous Aloha Girls Uoanne Wayne and Tricia Creasonl demonstrate how to do the Hula. Some spirited Saxons volunteer their services for the Munch-Out Relay on Grubby Day, Robert Dagnall shows his secret identity as the Lone Ranger, dressed in his finest. 134 homecoming week Mercy Kuo, one of Loara's top stu- dents, gets ready for VOGUE. Christina and Sabina Krueger, our resident senior twins, show how elegantly they used to dress and what good friends they really are. Yes, Mike Wallace is in jeans!
