ODE two 80, fcross country three CROSS COUNTRY IS A CHALLENGING SPORT THAT DEMANDS BOTH PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DISCIPLINE LOARA 'S CROSS COUNTRY HAS IT ALL. EACH RUNNER MUST PRACTICE LONG AND HARD TO WIN A RACE THE CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS HA VE BEEN LED BY AN OUT STANDING RUNNER CHRISTIAN BRANNSTROIVL WHO SAID EVEN THOUGH MOST OF THE TEAM DIDN'T RUN OVER THE SUMMER WE STILL DID WELL. PRACTICING SIX DAYS A WEEK OBVIOUSL YBENEFITS THE RUNNERS' PERFORMANCE THE FIRST TWO DA YS OF THE WEEK WERE RESERVED FOR LONG DISTANCE RUNNING AND ENDURANCE ON WEDNESDAY THE TEAM PREPARED FOR THE UPCOMING RACE THURSDA YS WERE RESERVED FOR COMPETITION DOING SIX EASY MILES ON FRIDA YS AND RACING ON SA TURDA YS THE TEAM SHOWED A LOT OF IMPROVEMENT LEADING THE TEAM WAS HEAD COACH DA VE SMITH WHO SAID THE TEAM SHOWED GREAT EFFORT DURING THE SEASON AND THEIR RECORD PROVED IT RICHARD LE VINE SAID, WE HAD A REALLY GOOD SEASON I THINK IT WAS OUR BEST SINCE 1979. WE WORKED REALLY HARD THIS YEAR AND IT PAID OFF WITH AN UNDEFEA TED SEASON THE RUNNERS WERE VERY EXCITED OVER THE CLE TOURNAMENT ALL RUNNERS DEDICATED THEMSEL VES TO THE TEAM AND THIS DEDICATION LED THEM TO VICTORY 1. The Junior Varsity Team: L Maloney, L Levine, R. Marquee D Neate, L 0lave, L Urdaz, Coach Smith. 2. Christian Brannstrom 'hours it on to reach the Rnishline hrst. 3. ' THE GIRLS' VARSITY CROSS-COUNTRY TEAM UTILIZED THEIR POTENTIAL BY PRACTICING HARD. THIS HAS BEEN THE HARDES T WORKING AND MUST SUCCESSFUL CROSS-COUNTRY TEAM IN MY FOUR YEARS AT LOARA, SAID DONNA GUGLIOTTA. THE TEAM PRACTICED AFTER SCHOOL EVERYDAY FOR MANY HOURS. THROUGH THEIR HARD WORK AND DEDICA TION THE TEAM HAD AN EX- CITING SEASON ALL SEVEN MEMBERS OF THE CROSS- COUNTRY TEAM WERE SUPERVISED BY COACH DAVE SMITH BESIDES PRACTICING HARD AND HAVING A GREAT SEASON THE CROSS-COUNTRY TEAM LEARNED HOW TO WORK TOGETHER AND SUPPORT ONE ANOTHER. FELICIA ROBINSON COMMENTED I HA VE REALLYDEVELOPEDA LOT OF LONG-LASTING FRIENDSHIPS THROUGH THIS SPORT DEVELOPING RESPONSIBILITIES, WORKING IN UNITY AND MAKING FRIENDS ARE REALLY IMPORTANT CON- CEPTS. THESE GIRLS HA VE DE VELOPED ALL OF THESE AND THE RE TURNING RUNNERS ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR'S SEASON THE L V TEAM ALSO SHOWED A LOT OF POTENTIAL AND TALENT THE GIRLS WORKED VERY HARD THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE YEAR. BEING TIED FOR SEC- OND PLACE AT THE LEAGUE FINALS, TERESA REEVES SAID, I THINK THAT THE VARSITY AND THE LV ARE REALLY RAD. 1. Chris Yarosiir jumps to a good start after the sound ot the starting gun, 2. The cross country team, with many dedicated runners, stretches out before a big meet. 3, Three team members run warm-up Iaps before a race. 4, Lisa Mote, a very determined runnen Ieads her team to a victory. 5.
