THE TEAM WAS COACHED BY RAY MOORE, ROBY ME GILL, AND IERRY HALPIN THE COACHES EXPECTED A SUCCESSFUL SEASON ' SOME OF LOARA 'S VE TERAN PLAYERS, SUCH AS MIKE GOLIA, CURTIS HENSON BRIAN ROBERTS ' CARLOS VARGAS, AND WADE CLESTER STARTED OFF THE SEASON WITH HOMERUNS. PRACTICE WAS HELD SIX DAYS A WEEK, EXCEPT ON GAME DA YS. THE LOARA BASEBALL TEAM HAD AN OUT- STANDING SEASON WITH FINE ATHLE TES LEAD ING THE WA Y' , I. THE SAXON BASEBALL TEAMS HAVE BEEN SO SUCCESSFUL, EXPECTATIONS FOR THE 1.986 .LV TEAM RAN HIGH THE TEAM WAS ABLE TO FULFILL ALL THE EXPECTA TIONS WITH THEIR EXCELLENT COACHING, PROMISING YOUNG PLAYERS, AND OUT- STANDING RE TURNING VETERANS. THE TEAM WAS FORTUNA TE ENOUGH TO GAIN JOE PAC TWA AS THEIR HEAD COACH AND JOE MACDONALD AS ASSISTANT COACH DURING PRACTICES DISCI- PLINE WAS S TRESSED, BUT IT WAS ALSO IMPORTANT FOR THE PLAYERS TO ENJOY WHAT THEY WERE DO- ING. THE COACHES WERE ABLE TO MOTIVA TE THE TEAM TO IMPROVE THEIR GAME AND WIN AS A TEAM TEAM SPIRIT AND SPORTSMANSHIP WERE ALWAYS EMPHASIZED. MATTDRAGER WAS THE ONLY FRESHMAN TO PLAY ON THE J V TEAM HIS COACHES OUICIILYPOINT OUT THATHE WAS AN IMMENSE ASSET TO HIS TEAM AND HE WILL DEFINITELY BE THE PLAYER TO WATCH IN THE FUTURE. ADDITIONAL TOP PLAYERS WERE JU- NIORS TONY FERRENTINO AND SCOTT BLEDSOE SOPHOMORES DANIEL RODRIGUES JOEY PAC TWA, AND CRAIG CLAYTON JOEY PAC TWA 'S POWERFUL PITCHING, WITH RELIEF SPECIALIST CRAIG CLAYTON BACKING HIM UR CAN BE CREDITED FOR MUCH OF THE TEAM'S SUCCESS. I 1. Coach Pactwa gives his players encouragement before a game. 2. Jim Panchisin gets a hit against Katella. 3. Craig Clayton gives his full concentration to his pitching 4.
