THE GIRLS' JUNIOR VARSITY AND FROSHKSOPH BASKETBALL TEAMS WERE BOTH ANXIOUS TO START THE SEASON THE JUNIOR VARSITY TEAM HAD THE SPIRIT OF RE VOLUTIONARY PATRIOTS. THE TEAM HAD A GREAT DEAL OF TALENT AND TURNED IT INTO OPPORTUNITY THEY WENT INTO EACH GAME AS WINNERS AND FELT GOOD ABOUT .THEMSEL VES. THEY PRACTICED HARD AND DE- SERVED EVERY GAME THEY WON DURING THEIR HARD PRACTICES THE COACH HAD THEM PRACTICE DRILLS, SHOOT BASKETS AND PERFECT LA Y-UPS TO GAIN STRENGTH AND AGILITY THE MANY HOURS THEY PRACTICED PAID OEF IN THE LONG RUN THE EROSHYSOPH TEAM WAS SMALL, BUT HAD THE CAPABILITY TO WIN THEY PROVED THIS TO KA TELLA IN A 31-20 VICTORY THROUGHOUT THE YEAR THEY CONTINUED THIS STRONG SHOWING. BOTH TEAMS WERE WELL BALANCED AND HAD MUCH DE TE RMINA TION THE YALSO BOTH ENJO YED GOOD SEASON RECORDS. 1. Kim Yoshika, alter knocking loose the balk dives to get the steal. 2. E. two IO8 varsity volleyball Wee UNDER THE COACHING SKILLS OF DONNA GARTEN THE GIRLS VARSITY VOLLEYBALL TEAM ACHIEVED ITS POTENTIAL. COACH GARTEN COMMENTED, 'ALTHOUGH THE SEASON WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL IN TERMS OF WINS AND LOSSES, EACH TEAM MEMBER IMPROVED AND ENJOYED THE CAMRADERIE AMONG THE TEAM MEM- BERS. WE LOOK FORWARD TO NEXT YEAR WITH HIGH HOPES. THIS YEAR'S MEMBERS WERE HIGHLY DEDICATED AND SPENT MANY HOURS IN PRACTICE THE RESULT WAS BEST EXPRESSED BY TEAM MEMBERS KAREN BEE- BE AND JODIE SEEBO. THEY BOTH SAID, WE HADA FUN SEASON WE ARE SAD THATIT HAD TO END SO OUICK- LY COACH GARTEN NAMED THE TEAM'S EXCEPTIONAL PLA YERS.' RENAI BLAIR ANNA MARIA, AND KRIS TIN WA- TERS. THE SE TTER OF THE TEAM WAS JODIE SEEBO. OTHER BUMPERS INCLUDE ROBYN SOTO, PEGGY BUS- TILLOS, BECK Y FRASER AND KIM HOFFART THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PLAYERS WAS BEST EXPRESSED BY STAC Y HECKA THORN' IT WAS GREAT GETTING TOGETHER WITH ALL MY FRIENDS TO PLAYA SPORT THAT WE ALL ENJOYED. NAMED AS THE BEST ALL AROUND PLAYER OF THE VOLLEYBALL TEAM WAS RENAI BLAIR I. Robyn Sato sets the ball with much effort and skill to insure a Saxon victory. 6. Coach Debbie Garten, in her Hrst year ol coaching our volleyball team, confers with her team members.
