'Y u - . - u , H - . n .1 H V 1 A 4 V 5 E 14 Class Hzstory I am Lloyd Hlgh School In September of 1939 I savu seventy four Freshmen enter my door startxng on thelr way to thexr ultxmate goal Commencement Mr Evans and Mr Ellxs were the able leaders of th1s eager young group of scholars Of course as they were only Freshmen thxs group was almost beneath my notxce but I found an unusual amount of abzlxty present m thxs new mnth grade At the end of that year I attended thelr Freshman party whlch I enjoyed very much In September 1939 I saw most of thxs same group enter my domam on the second lap of thexr Journey Thxs txme Mlss Bayne and Mass Ferr1s were to gulde them That year I was pleased to see that thls group had the best Commencement Dance on record and xt looked as though thev mleht have an unequalled Junxor Semor Dmner Dance The group had thmned cut by September 9 1940 but now I saw quahty mstead of quan t1ty Under the able mentors Mlss Morgan and Miss Bevarly my junxors advanced further OCCBSIOH On September S 1941 I eagerly awalted the return of my new Semors and now only forty exght of the orgmal seventy four were left Mr Rouse was to sponsor thexr most xmport ant year Many of the old frlends now held promment posntxons Harold johnson was agam elected class presldent and also was football captam wxth able bodxed Charles Kuhlmg as captaln of basketball Capable Nancy Dempsey was presxdent of the G1 l Reserves and joe Gardner was honored by two clubs havmg been elected presldent of both the I-I1 Y and the Photography Club Tay Penn was at the helm of the Boosters Club and Eula Roland was the able head of the Dramatnc Club Paul Ammon proved a boon to the student body as chaxrman of the Student Councxl The llterary ab1l1ty of the class was shown by the work of Jeanne Perrow as edrtor of the Spectator and Duck Yelton as edxtor of the Tatler Indeed on the evenmg of Commencement 1942 when I saw them all together for the last txme I felt that I was losmg one of the finest groups of semors that had ever departed from my realms I w1ll mxss them wont you? 15 O 1 .
