Skyhawk Batmen Third in District uccess is always welcome espe- cially when it is unexpected. With only three returning varsity players, the team was not expected to have a good season. “We proved them wrong to make it to the play-offs,’ said Alan Pfeffer. The 10-6 season re- cord did, indeed, prove them wrong. In the win col- umn, the most exciting game was probably the 10-0 win over Matoaca. This out- standing team effort fea- tured Skyhawks hot at bat- ting while Johnny Boden- hamer held Matoaca players to a perfect no hits day. His no-hitter is in the record book. More success for the season can be seen in the first time ever two wins over rival, Midlothian. Skyhawks worked hard and kept the momentum alive with those wins to work toward yet an- other goal, to place in dis- trict. Success again with a third place finish for the sea- son. Named to the All Dis- trict Team were Johnny Bo- denhamer and Chris Davis with Jerry Davis, Ryan Mann and Jeff LaMack re- ceiving honorable mention as outstanding players.
