Moving in to defend his man, eighth-grader Michael Berger gets tested. Play Improves During Season laying mostly Dito vical graders and fresh- men, the Junior Var- sity team opened the season with an impressive win against Hopewell. Confidence, howev- er, was severely test- ed as the team dropped the next two games before scoring a win over Huguenot. The test was on again with two losses before the next victory over Manchester. With confidence restored, the entire team played an outstand- ing game in defeat- ing a strong Mono- can team 20-0. De- fensive stars, Ryan Sharkey, Daryl Thompson and Tim Wade teamed with outstanding offen- sive players, Bryan Leslie, Jammie Brown, Kevin Brown, David King and David Mayfield to show the skill that the young team had worked the entire season to perfect.
