Clubs Tackle Different Goals Night hikes in White Oaks Canyon, mountain climbs to study the vegetation, science museum outings occupied members of the Science Club this active year. And the car wash was a bright way to bring Science Club: Front: Gary Swanson, in funds to finance the fun. Students Against Drunk Driving joined together under the sponsorship of Norwood Powell to form a new chapter of SADD. Students and parents signed contracts to assure each that they would not drive drunk. With alcohol involved in forty-five percent of fatal acci- dents, this club has quite a job. Service Clubs, Bird Aid and Key Club keep the school clean in addition to collecting food for the poor and filling the blood bank for emergencies. Look Behind Those Initials ‘Ouch!’ This is not as easy as Future Homemakers of America make it appear. FHA members sharpen those sewing skills by attaching those Bird emblems to all the jackets and vests used by ushers and other personnel. Hungry? need a snack?, these club members prepare all those delicious goodies for faculty banquets and club par- ties. SCA members attend leadership confer- ences and then plan the fun for Skyhawks. Dances after games, homecoming, Miss America contests and the beauty pageant are sponsored by this hard-working group. Future Business Leaders of America find their home in competition and dis- playing their business skills. Often part of the early dismissal program, members still have time to participate in homecoming and school activities. DECA is the word for fashion news. Thanks to Jeff Langford’s group, Sky- hawks get the latest word in fall, spring and prom styles. al a SEYR AWK s Above FHA Front: Stacy Rist, Denyelle Paquette, Carey Allen, Susie Stell.
