71 by 'el N53 Class Officers and Advisors TOP ROW Left to Rrght Charles Foote James Stewart FRONT ROW Margaret Whtte Mrs Kexth Mr Huff Kathleen Prescott Class Hlstory The Class of 56 entered hrgh school full of enthustasm w1th Mrs Short as advtsor and four very capable offrcers hm Saunders was our presrdent and our vrce presrdent was Tom Strong The Job of secretary went to Carole West and the job of treasurer to Phrl Saunders After electrng our offrcers we started to pay dues and began workrng on our ftrst proJect the sale of magnet boards Our act1v1t1es that year rncluded several erghth penod dances and baked food sales and an attempt to sell some seat cushrons Our Sophomore year began wrth Mr Moynrhan as our advrsor, hm Saunders presrdent Gary Backus vlce presrdent Carole West secretary and Phrl Saunders treasurer Besides several baked food sales and etghth penod dances we attempted to sponsor a Mr Touchdown dance Our plans however were upset by an early snow storm Ofcourse the htghlrght of the year came rn the spnng when we chose our class nngs In June we bade farewell to our Sophomore year wrth a class party Saunders presrdent Gary Backus vrce presldent Margaret Whrte secretary and Carole West treasurer Our fust pro ject forthe yearwasa very profrtable statronerv sale Thrs was followed by a baked food sale and some erghth perlod dances Our Junror Prom A Lrttle Brt of Heaven was a huge success as we broke all records for trcket sales and profrt We ended the year by sellrng flags and later havtng a class party rn June To gutde us through our very rmportant Senror year we chose for our offrcers Chuck Foote presrdent Jim Stewart vrce presldent Margaret Whrte secretary and Katre Prescott treasurer Our advrsors were once agarn Mrs Kerth and Mr Hu Among our proJects for the year were a baked food sale a frsh supper the sale ofL1von1a pennants a senes of three roller skattng partres and a hrghly successful magazrne subscrrptron sale Wrth Home for the Holrdays as rts theme the Chrrstmas Ball proved to be very profrtable as well as emoyable Although the senror play All tn the Famrly had to be postponed twrce due to an unfortunate accrdent everyone had a pleasant time when lt was frnally presented At last came the senror trrp we had all looked forward to stnce we were Freshmen Those frve days rn New York Crty were certarnly worth all our work srnce they were emoyed by everyone When the year ended wrth commencement the members of the Class of 56 took away many happy memorres of the years they spent rn L C S I N, Q. 2 , I wi, J .al O , . . . .
