This Yearbook is gratefully dedicated to Mr. Moynihan, who has not only helped us scholastically, but also has served as a class advisor, assistant football coach, and an all-round friend. Theme Our Yearbook of 1955 is centered around the theme The Future . To most of us the abstract word future implies a time which is to come in the here-after. It is a time for which we have made present-day sacrifices and have done a great deal of planning. When we were small children, our parents made plans and preparation for our future, and then as we entered school and gained responsibility, we too, started planning and preparing for our future. As we have planned, we have looked to our teachers for guidance. Today the future is very uncertain. It may bring jet planes, rockets, inter- planetary travel, or extensive use of the atomic bomb. However, in spite of what the future may hold, we shall have the training and guidance which our school and teachers have offered us t'o help us meet it with a challenge. And as our plane of life soars and hits air pockets and cross currents, as it undoubtedly will, we are certain we shall remain on the proper course and reach our pre-planned destination, for in the cockpit of our planes we shall have our past training and the influence of our teachers as our co-pilots. 2 IIIIIIIIIIIII I I f O! Jordan Secretary PrincipaI's Message TO THE SENIORS: The end of the year, and for you seniors, the end of your school life at Li- vonia Central. Twelve years ago with anticipation and eagerness you began your formal education and, for some of you, the years have rolled by oh so slowly. Now in retrospect the time has been short. The time has wrought change. Change-often so gradual as to be almost imperceptible but always so consistant. During this time-wars, hot and cold, have been waged, muchlife- blood has been spilled, wise men have deliberated, diplomacy has been exer- cised and conferences held. The very foundations ofmodern society have been tested and the assurance oforderly and representative government has been challenged. During these years your teachers have endeavored to place in your hands the tools of learning, to instill within you the sacredness of truth and to open for you the vast storehouses ofknowledge. They have tried to effectively guide your mental growth into wholesome attitudes, appreciations and understandings and to imbue you with those intangible spiritual forces giving assurance that you can be somebody as wellas do something. They have emphasized that this Country, having the world's highest standard of living, was built by people who had high standards IN living. McRae Senior Class History The class of 55 started on its journey through high school with Bob Booher as president, Judy Wunder as vice president,Judy Fabry as secretary, and Kay Wood as treasurer. Our advisor was Mrs. Short. Since this was our first year in high school, our only activity was selling emblems. Our class dues began this year too. Our Sophomore year began with Sam McRae as president, Bob Trescott as vice president, Eleanor Jamison as secretary, and Kay Wood as treasurer. Mr. Moynihan was our advisor. Our projects were Club 55 and our Mr. Touchdown Dance. The most important thing was the choosing of our class rings, which came at the end of this year. In the lead during our Junior year was Sam McRae as president, Beverly Milliman as vice president, Marcia Baker as secretary, and Jim Weegar as treasurer. Our advisors were Miss Bubier and Mr. Ellison. We realized ourtreasury was low, so we worked extra hard on our stationery sale and made a great success on our fish fries and some 8th period dances. We did our best on the Junior Prom. Our Senior year and the last part of our journey was again headed by Sam McRae as president, Mike Murphy as vice president, Marcia Baker as secretary, and Kay Wood as treasurer. We were very glad to have Miss Bubier and Mr. Ellison as our advisors again. Our first project was selling L.C.S. Bracelets. Then came our Senior Play No More Homework, directed by Mrs. Keith. Next came our Senior Ball Winter Wonderland. We did very wellon our magazine sale and also on our fish fry March 4th, The day we had been waiting for finally arrived and the advisors and class set off for New York City for a five day stay. We all had a wonderful time but were glad to get home. Our four years ended as we walked up the steps and received our diplomas. After winning two championships in a row, the Bulldogs were faced with a rebuilding job and Coach Baker and Moynihan were not able to rebuild quickly enough. The Bulldogs won 3 games and lost 4. Highlights of the season were the 13-6 win over East High School and well played games against Geneseo, Avon, and Caledonia. Cap't. Jimmy Red Weegar was able to score 2.4 points.
