Feeling proud of our climb into high school, we started our Freshman year with Mrs. Short as our advisor and elected David VanDerMeid.as president, Pat Brisbane as vice-president, Carl Rossborough as sec- retary, and Kay Hohman as treasurer. We took a Freshman trip to Rochester to see the places of interest there. With Mr. Schaefer as our advisor, we entered our Sophomore year led by Pat Brisbane as president, Craig Brown as vice-president, Cleo Milliman as secretary, and Kay Hohman as treasurer. In September 1951 we resumed our activities with Mr. Ellison and Miss Bubier as our advisors. Pat Brisbane was elected as president, Alice Phelps as vice-president, Mary Ann Hanna as secretary, and Craig Brown as treasurer. Our big projects were selling stationery and spon- soring the Christmas Ball and the Junior Prom. The Parisians supplied delightful music on the ship's deck on the boat SSLCS. As we started school in September 1952, we suddenly realized that this was our last year together and decided to make the most of it. Our big projects were the play, the Christmas ball, the magazine sale, and our long awaited trip. We had much fun producing The Little Dog Laughed under the direction Mrs. Keith. We left April 2nd by train for New York City with Mr. Ellison and Miss Bubier as our chaperons and returned April 6th, We stayed in the Hotel Taft and from there made tours all over the city. A very enjoyable time was spent. Graduation will be a climax of our twelve years. 9 Moe A., '-was - s K' fr .1 4 154- f MARY LOU BEACH Lou She's got her guy hooked for sure. AMERICA! As Mr. Wilson dozed in his chair before the TV, he was startled as a voice boomed out-- Attention Mr. and Mrs. America and all the ships at sea. Our long awaited program is herel Miss Dorothy Bubier, international interpreter of the UN is returning from a world trip with her report on the Class of 1953 of Livonia Central School. Realizing that this he must hear, Mr. Wilson was all attention, for how could he forget those days .in LCS and that Class of 1953. ' And now came the report: Miss Bubier had left Washington by planea year ago with the best wishes of our first lady president--Miss Alice Phelps, Frank D'Angelo--Secretary of Agriculture, and Governor Da- vid Van Der Meid of New York, None other than Hugo Birkedahl, director of KWB Air Lines piloted the plane she boarded. And the owner of the international organization of KWB--Kosakowski, Wing, and Busch, of course. At her first stop Miss Bubier was met by Joan West, world famous artist and Cleo Milliman, composer of the Monstrosity in F Minor' who whisked her off to an exhibition of Joan's Masterpieces that had been arranged for King Alfred and Queen Mary Lou. Then on to Gay Parie and Catherine Hohman, Parisian designer, Pat Mix, her famous model, and Arlene Stewart, famous hair stylist, met and escorted Miss Bubier to the opera to hear Maureen Beach, world famous metropolitan soprano, and Eugene Panipinto, known to the world as Geneie the Great. Here the TV began to flicker and become noisy as Miss Bubier's plane touched countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa. On her stop In Sweden, she visited the famous Cicero Clinic where Peggy is specializ- ing in nursing. in Italy the Olympic games showed James Murphy, who was covering them for the Livonia Chronicle. On the tennis court was Dorthy Gfeller after that famous cup. On to Africa and here was John Muscato world famous wild life photographer, and Barbara Schuster who was writing her seventh book entitled The Lost Mummy. From Africa it was buta few minutes trip to Moscow to the Democratic Residence there where a spec- ial performance was being given by James West and Joan Lewis--the world's greatest comedian team. Down under to Australia was the next stop and here was Gerald Spencer--Commander of the US Na- val Forces protecting the world from the Mars Space Cadets. The radio had announced on the plane that Mr. Sterling Ellison, former advisor of the Class of '53 was in Hawaii. So the next stop was there, to inter- view Mr. Ellison, who had just returned from the Moon in his rocket ship, The Mermaid Polarous Crous - ier, which was accidentally developed in the LCS lab one day back in 1953. And now back to Hollywood where Pat Brisbane was starring in Paramount 's new picture Why the Little Dog Didn't Laugh. Shades of '53--he actually laughed the night of the Senior Play when he looked on the stage! Texas next--and here the multimillionaire, Frank Wunder, world president of the Hermit's Club was on hand to greet the world traveler. Before returning to N. Y. there must be a stop in North Dakota to see Leo lten, owner of the fabulous Cloverfield Farms, before they went onto Chicago--Leo and Miss Bubier--to stay at the swank hotel own- ed and operated by Eleanora Foote. And that music booming thro' the Blue Room--nothing else but the sax of Beverly Taylor. Again the TV began to flicker as the homing plane neared New York City and Doc. Bonnie Krest and Nurse Dona Barrows, winners of the Medical Awards for treatment of cancer through atomic energy, rushed out to be ready in case the plane crashed. But, there was no crash and Miss Bubier landed --tired and weary from her trip, but with the report that the world was waiting to hear. Lawyer Craig Brown, representing Dick Winchell, owner of the Hawaiian Club in the Case of the Missing Hawaiian Dancer, who turned out to be Miss Wilma Reeser, was on hand to greet and to give the key to the city for the world traveler. They had to hurry back to the Club for Bernie Broughan was playing the renowned Hawaiian guitar during the dinner hour. And now the TV was in complete darkness as the announcer calmly said Do not adjust your sets-- transmission is temporarily disrupted because of the distance covered in this report. But, surely we must hear the rest of the report! Ah yes--Marion Farley, who recently set a new world's record by typing 300 words a minute has come to our rescue and finished the report and sent it to the Li- vonia Gazette so that the record of the class may go down in theannuals of history for future classes to record and aim toward the successful attainments of the Class of '53. 19 SENIOR ACTIVITIES ww S Y P' S610 I QUSX ' A A I .
