COLLEGE AS AN ART FORM Studying Scheduling Attending Class Finance Dating Graduating The Fine Art of Studying The fine art of studying ... or how not to — Decide on studying in front of the television and with the radio blaring in the background. This attack on your senses seems to close the mind. You are better able to concentrate on the weekend, your date, the game etc. — Study with a friend. If at all possible, a friend of the opposite sex. — Study at the library. The library always has a great collection of magazines and the latest novels There is nothing better than spending an afternoon browsing through magazines. And it is the ideal place for chatting With frinnds who are also studying in the library. 27 The Fine Art of Scheduling The fine art of scheduling or how to work in your favorite soap opera. — Decide on your favorite soap and work all your classes around it. — Determine whether your class is too far down the hill to run and catch the last twenty minutes of your soap, if so buy a pocket sized television or radio with earphones and explain to your instructor that you have a serious hearing defect. — And if all else fails remember that the World will still turn even if you don ' t get to watch it. 28 The Fine Art of Attending Class The fine art of attending class or how not to. — Try to attend class with all your favorite friends and rotate your note taking. — Sit as close to the back of the room as possible and write love letters to your sweetheart. — Take your favotite magazine and read it. — Meditate, it will look like you are paying attention. — Study for your next class. 29 The Fine Art of Finance The fine art of finance or ways to beg for money. — Write your mother and tell her you need extra money for a book, (call if she will accept the charges) — Write all your relatives and cry the blues. — Go to the business office and cry the blues. — Pawn your jewelery and your entertainment equipment. — Last resort, get a job. — Ask Mr. Aldrich, at least he ' ll get a good laugh! 30 The Fine Art of Dating The fine art of Dating . . . — In colleges you receive callers , you must first decide if you want to be called. — Never, never date in your room if you do, you will not date long. — Find out what nights at the movies are dollar night. — Dating on the phone is quite difficult since it ' s always busy. The Fine Art of Graduating The fine are of graduating ... or how to be sure that you do. — Sleep with your catalog. — Make friends with the people in the Registrar ' s office. — Move into your advisor’s office. — Pray. 32 NEED WE SAY MORE SENIORS P.O.
