A. nnrecia nu W. Maze! JJowarJ Mrs. M. Hazel Howard, fondly known to all of us as Nurse” is one of this year’s recipients of appreciation. Mrs. Howard came to us a year ago to fill the void of Health Director, only to warm the hearts of many students and become a dear and trusted friend of us all. A native of Durham, North Carolina, Mrs. Howard completed her formal education in Dunn, North Carolina and her nursing training at Duke Hospital in Durham. Her civic involvements include membership in the Nurses’ Association, the Nurses’ Breakfast Club and the Jet Setters Social Club. She is a member of St. Mark AME Zion Church in Durham where she is a member of the R. L. Speaks Achievements Club, a Class Leader and secretary to the Leader’s Club. Mrs. Howard enjoys cooking, sewing, bowling and is an avid lover of sports and music. Mrs. Howard has one daughter and two grandchildren. Please join the ' 82 LIVINGSTONIAN in honoring such a lovely lady. WL. IZdli Camp Ruth Davis Camp is a conscientious, energetic and devoted worker, who has been employed at Livingstone College since 1963. Mrs. Camp gives directions to the College Bookstore and the College Canteen. She is a life member of Mount Zion Baptist Church where she sings with the Senior Choir. Mrs. Camp is a member of numerous clubs and organizations. Two such organizations are: the Missionary Society and Courtesy Guild. Mrs. Camp is married to Waverly Camp. Sr. They have one son, Waverly Camp, Jr. (Livingstone College class of 1974), and one daughter, Mrs. Paula Williams. She is the grandmother of two granddaughters. Miss Livingstone College Cynthia Dian Mayle Cynthia Dian Mayle, a native of Canton, Ohio is a senior here at Livingstone College. The daughter of Mr. § Mrs. Frank Mayle, Jr., Cynthia is one of three children. Her hobbies include tennis, swimming, walking and meeting new people. Here at Livingstone, Cynthia is active in various activities. She was vice-president of her sophomore class, member of the Varick Christian Endeavor Society, and has been inducted into the Alpha Kappa Mu National Honor Society. She’s been involved in the United Negro College Fund student campaign and has also conducted Bible study on campus. Several honors have been bestowed upon Miss Mayle during her college career which include the Business and Professional Woman’s Club Prize and the Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society Award her freshman year. Last year, she obtained highest honor in scholastic achievement and was honor marshall at graduation. Best wishes to Cynthia in her future endeavors. 21
