Miss Duncan at the Dedication of the Sun Dail to her brother, the late Dr. S. E. Duncan For her contributions to Livingstone College, Miss Duncan has received numer- ous awards. To mention just a few, she received a plaque from the Julia B. Dun- can Players in 1956 for her support to this outstandmg drama guild which bears her name. In 1968 she received the Jennie Smallwood Price Award from the Women ' s Assembly, and in 1970 the Alumni Meritorious Service Award from the General Alumni Association. To many Livingstonians, she is fondly known as L. C ' s Walking Encyclo- pedia , because of her first-hand knowledge of events which have marked Living- stone ' s growth and development. For her long service and tireless devotion. Miss Duncan is indeed a valuable asset to the Livingstone College Community. 9

Dedication Miss Julia Belle Duncan Registrar Miss Julia Belle Duncan first became asociated with Livingstone College as a student. In 1923 she worked as a student aid to the registrar. She received her A.B. Degree from Livingstone College, after which she was appointed Acting Reg- istrar from 1925-1936 by President W. J. Tent. The following year she began her services as full time registrar. From 1936-1957. she served in the dual capacity of registrar-treasurer. Since 1958 her position has reverted to the single role of Regis- trar. Along with her job as registrar, she presently serves on the Lycem Committee, the Advisory Council, the Athletic Committee, the Committee on Admissions and Exclusions, the College Cooperative development program, the Curriculum — Catalogue Committee, and the Scholarship and Honors Committee. Miss Duncan is afl[iliated with many civic and religious organizations. She served in 1964 as Group Chairman of Rowan United Fund Campaign and is pres- ently the treasurer of the Alumni Development Fund.
