Frank R. Brown, Ed. D. To the graduates of 1963 my sincere congratulations on your success in reaching this mildstone on your road through life. For each of us there is only one way which is cut and carved as one moves forward through life ' s jungle to- ward a self chosen goal. Successful achievement, lend strength and confidence as each tree is felled and each river crossed. Each one steps forward and meets a new danger-another challenge. You are now standing in an open meadow facing another dark unknown jungle. How will you meet these unknown dangers? Fear has become a tool and weapon of our age. Fearful of an undesirable end dominates and becomes the controlling drive in the movements of mankind. Are you afraid of life or overconfident of success? Over confidence and too much self assurance are obstacles to successful accomplishments. God must be in the equa- tion of life. He who fears is without God, he who has faith is of God. Faith in God, supports faith in self and lends understanding, visual depth, courage, determination, the will to do and move mountains of opposition. Do you have this kind of faith? Frank R. Brown, Ed. D. Dean of Hood Theological Seminary Zelma Ponder, B. A. Secretary to the Dean 21 Willie Aldrich, B. A. Librarian, Hood Seminary
