FOREWORD There are things of which I may not speak; There are dreams that cannot die; There are thoughts that make the strong heart weak, And bring a pallor into the cheek, And a mist before the eye. Longfellow The class of 1954 has reached the final stage of educational training at Livingstone College. We stand ready to discharge our responsibilities as citizens. Our dear Alma Mater has given us the special equipment and the obligation to play an effective and productive role in society. This thor- ough preparedness warrants our deep gratitude and appreciation. We are proud to add the Livingstonian of ’54 to the tradition of the college. The photographs, class history, and superlatives herein tell the story of four years of accomplishments in our gayer hours. In this annual we have striven to preserve our pleasant memories so that when the past rises before us like a dream, the unforgettable years spent at Livingstone College will emerge panoramic in scope and bring a mist before our eyes. With a tinge of melancholy, we make this our last contribution to dear old Livingstone. May we thank the administration, faculty, and all others who have cooperated with us in helping to make our Livingstonian a success.
