564572002 CAM On September 6th, 1949, we were twenty-two green 'freshles' starting to school once again We were an excited bunch, as this was our first ex- perience of high school The first big event for us was the initiation party The boys were dressed in girls' dresses, and the girls wore boys' jeans backwards and inside out We each wore a green hat The upper classmen had a grand time painting our faces until we looked like a bunch of Indians That evening, as each of us made a dash for the door, he was welcomed by the swinging of pad dles and boards We were taken into the gym, and each was given the works Several of us had a grand time counting pickets on fences However, we survived all and turned out to be an even happier bunch of freshmen than before Our freshmen play, sponsored by Mrs Binney, was given in April Our class party followed week later with funds obtained from the proceeds of our play Pat Kuclnik, Rosemary Robertson, Joan Fech, and Mary Slifka are members in the school's 'Future Homemakers of America club Stephen Cox enrolled but did not attend our class We elected the following class officers at our first class meeting Vice President James Sandrin Secretary Treasurer Mary Slifka Esther Graiff and Donald Smerk were chosen as the freshmen representatives to the Student Coun cil Esther was chosen as the freshman reporter for the Eaglet , also lass Motto 'We're On Our Way Class Flower White Carnation Class Colors Green and White 19 .
