..-l- BUSINESS The Livingston High School Business Department prepares students who seek employment after high school and those who will pursue a business educa- tion in college. ln covering a wide range of practical and conceptual topics in business, the department encompasses two main areas: Secretarial Work and Social Business. The Secretarial section trains stu- dents in typing and shorthand skills. Social Business stresses accounting, business law and economics. Students gain a solid foundation of business knowl- edge and experience, worthwhile preparation for functioning in the business world. Q i Seest thou a man diligent in his business? IN DUSTRIAL ARTS Useful skills can be gained through the Industrial Arts department. A wide variety of courses are offered in this innovative area of school activity. Automotive mainte- nance, drafting, woodshop, electronics and photography are taught. Working on actual automobiles helps to pre- pare students for further technical training or for imme- diate employment. Those enrolled in drafting may con- centrate on skills needed in mechanical, civil or architec- tural work. ln woodshop, furniture can be designed and constructed using the latest methods and tools. The complexities of electronics and photography are ex- plored as students achieve proficiency in these fields.
