KEY CLUB The Key Club, currently ranked third in the world, worked diligently this year to serve the community and school. With membership totaling one-hundred and sixty students-the largest number ever- the key clubbers were able to devote their efforts to new services, in addition to their regular weekly projects. ln keeping with this year's international theme Share Togetherness , the members shared a lot of their time with the elderly, the handicapped, and the youth of our community. Weekly, they played bingo with the patients of lnglemoor Nursing Home, and whenever Sr. Citizens' Luncheons were held in the high school, key clubbers served the food. The few times it did snow this winter, the club provided a shoveling service for the elderly. Working with retarded citizens at the Momouth Court Center on Saturday mornings was a new and successful project addition this year. The club assisted in numerous fundraisers for disease organizations such as Muscular Dystrophy Association and American Cancer Society. Key Club members provided a Leadership Development Program at the YMCA for junior high school students which focused on youth problems. Here at school, members helped their peers by math tutoring during extended homeroom periods. Other important projects this year included running the local bottle and paper drives, and ushering for the Adult School and student plays. The club staged a successful Halloween candy sale which provided the treasury with 3,000 dollars to use for annual expenses such as subsidizing members who attend the District Convention in April, and holding a banquet at the end of the year. All in all, the Key Club enjoyed another prosperous year due to the strong efforts of its dedicated members and industrious officers. Officers President ...............
