SPANISH HONOR SOCIETY ll ,-,4,. .. tes! Y t V-Ii The Livingston High School Spanish Honor Society is composed of students who distinguished them- selves in the Spanish Language. This year the students had an exciting induction ceremony which included dancing, singing, a skit, and guitar music. The society is under the sponsorship of Mrs. Eva Gerson. THE SPANISH CLUB S The members of the Spanish Club meet weekly under the supervision of Miss Conforti. President, Jeff Mitnick, along with his other officers, plan many Spanish-related events, such as a trip to the United Nations, bake sales, guest speakers, films, and din- ner in New York. I , . FUTURE PHYSICIANS CLUB and HOSA The two clubs involving Health Careers are The Future Physicians Club and the Health Occupations Students of America. These clubs are designed to make students aware of the various medical fields open to them. Guest speakers are frequently present at meetings for students to obtain information on the careers they are interested in. These two clubs provide interesting activities and significant research materials. THE DEBATE TEAM r v ' g ? .S , I 1. ff- The Debate Team participates in inter- scholastic tournaments with neighboring schools. Members must present an effec- tive case as well as at- tack an opponent's casey all debates re- volve around this year's topic: Resolved That the Federal Govern- ment should signifi- cantly change its for- eign trade policies. In general, team mem- bers learn to disagree without being disagree- able.

GERMAN CLUB The German Club, under the sponsorship of Mrs. Steinbach, got off to an enthusiastic start this past fall. Living up to its gus- tatory tradition, the club spon- sored an Oktoberfest with hot pretzels, root beer, cider, and Beatles music Csung in German, of courselj Other activities in- cluded dinner at a German res- taurant and also, participation in an exchange program. Two girls from Rosrath, West Germany, stayed in Livingston during the month of April, and the club made Barbara and Caroline feel right at home here at L.l-l.S. The senior co-presidents are Kristen Richardson and Marsha Sieber. FRENCH CLUB -.af Iv? Le Circle Francais The members of Le Circle Francais, under the leadership of Mrs. Hamlin and President, Veronica Risanog Vice-president, Jaime Wolf, Secretary, Mary Beth Walsh, and Treasurer, Cindy Kuo, try to improve their knowledge of the language in addition to planning different events concerning the French culture. They also have held a French dinner, bake sales, and have enjoyed French movies as parts of their program.
