TRACKNIEN ANTICIPATE IMPROVED PERFGRIVIANCE Despite a disappointing campaign last year, this year's team appears to have the needed exper- ience and skill to look forward to a very promising season. Coached by Mr. Geftic, the team will be led by returning Iettermen Peter O'Grady, Steve Jacobson and Jed Matza. Peter O'Grady remains as the' team's strongest long distance runner while Jacobson threatens to break the school re- cord in the mile and half-mile. Jed Matza repre- sents the team as the top hurdler and is expected to contribute towards the team's success in the sprints. Also vital returning members of the team include Albert Kim, Steven Reichel, Mike Bern- stein, all competing in the long distance races and Hal Kussick who runs sprints and mid distance races. In the field events the team should be paced by Mennen Gallas and Robert Sibilia in the pole vault, and Mark Friedman in the high jump. In the discus, javelin, and shot carried by returning track members Rich Gould, Frank Antonacci, and Robert Friedman. The season should be marked by exciting meets filled with many triumphs. Jed Matza takes the hurdles in stride as he racks up points for the Lancers. -...J-' Coach Geftic discusses strategy with senior Steve Jacobson. rw-1 . V 4 ,l Captain Peter O'Grady leads the pack.
