THE BAND FRGNT AND SQUADS SPARK TEAM The 1980 Lancer spirit and showmanship was sparked by the talented efforts of the band, band front and cheerleaders. The marching band, under the leadership of student director Lance Siegel, performed a variety of musical numbers. The shows were highlighted by unique marching drills and formations coordinated with the band front. The drills of the Flagsters and Lancer- ettes proved colorful and exciting enter- tainment at football games. Coordinated carefully, the skillful twirling maneuvers and marching of the Color Guard rifle squad and the Twirlers captured the fans' attention. Along with their skillful exhibitions, the girls upheld the spirit of the Lancer tradition. The Lancer spirit was further displayed as Lancer victories were inspired by the undy- ing support of the cheerleaders. The pep and talent of the squad encouraged fan par- ticipation and fired up the Lancer's valiant efforts. The successful 1980 season en- joyed by the Lancers was certainly made more memorable by the colorful support and performances of the band, band front and cheerleading squads.
