It is a meaningful privilege to be a foreign student here and to experience the real life of an entirely different country. Now I have a better understanding of the U.S.A. than I had before, and I hope I can relate the true life of japan, too. The purpose of exchanging students between countries is to cast out the misunder- standing that hinders friendly relations and to promote peace between them. A.F.S. is a meritorious organization from my point of view. We must be aware that we all are responsible for establishing and maintaining world peace. I'd like to say before I close, never hesitate to go to a foreign country if the opportunity arises. I shall never forget my experience in Liverpool. This will be one of the most mem- orable years of my life. Again, thank you very much. Our record was a very creditable 6 and 1, our only loss being to North Syracuse in a night contest. The attributes of Coach Atkins' well-drilled squad were described thus by writers and spectators throughout the season. The offense: grind it out, with few, but when used, effec- tive passes, relying mainly on crisp, efficient blocking, good faking and quick, hard, bone- crushing thrusts into the line and around the ends. The defense: rock-ribbed, big and strong, constantly forcing their opponents running game into costly fumbles and losses, pass defense was good also, although few teams in the county use this phase of the game to excess. The defense was, in truth, credited with a large role in the team's good showing for good reason, since no opponent scored more than two touchdowns and three were whitewashed by the Lancers. This certainly was a display of continual defensive excellence rewarded by an avid student turnout at all games. Sixteen seniors are leaving the squad, including the major portion of the starting eleven, a fine j.V. team, it is hoped, will fill these berths. Five of these seniors were given deserved recog- nition by being selected to the AB Division All- County Team. They were Bob Easter, Don Zuhlke, Frank Groth, Walt Mielnicki, and Al Falso. Don Zuhlke was also selected to the all state squad. nomean accomplishment. Congratulations to these and all the members of the team for a job well done! It is hoped in the future that this display of fine competitive spirit and good sportsmanship will be continued, bringing to the students of Liverpool more and equally great championships. Teams now in the league are Jamesville-Dewitt, Fayetteville- Manlius, and Baldwinsville. Non-league meets were with Auburn, Valley, and Sedgwick Farms, a private organization. Liverpool is coached most ably by Don Lohr, himself a tennis team member while a student at Liverpool. The team needs and hopes to receive new courts so that more meets can be held at home.
