o SE IOR CLASS HISTORY I 3 ? --f'1np1 -zvul i ii nuf'1 iiit-un ll gli, ' ' lllll In the fall of l96l this year's graduating class entered Livermore High. We were welcomed enthusiastically at the Freshman Reception, which had as its theme Babes in Toyland . In appreciation of the welcome given us by the seniors, we hosted them at the first dance given by our class, the Freshman Return. The class officers for our first year at L.H.S. were as follows, Denis Bayless, President, Bob Bryson, Vice President, Karen Moore, Secretary, Tina Von Steeg, Treasurer, John Dutro, Boys' Representative, Marie Sorensen, Girls' Represent- ative. Awards to outstanding members of our class were made at the awards assembly at the end of the year. Bob Bryson received the award for Outstanding Freshman Bay, and Marilyn Harrison was presentd with the Outstanding Freshman Girl award. Our second year at Livermore High removed us from our distinction as scrubs and placed us one step nearer our apparently distant obiective, graduation. This year had as one of its big events the Sophomore Hop, which we called Swingin' on a Star . Our class officers for the year were Dwain Glossup as President, Arnold Lamb as Vice-president, Rita Garcia as Secre- tary, Marcia Wooster as Treasurer, Nancy Tejada and Greg Placas as Girls' and Boys' Representatives, and Ron Sheppard and Marie Sorenson as Program Com- mittee members. The i963-64 school year saw the completion of a second high school in Livermore and a consequent improvement in the crowded conditions which had developed at Livermore High, All of the classes follow- ing us were split and ours therefore became the last class to represent all of Livermore at graduation. As iuniors we encountered one of the big events of our high school life, the Junior Prom. Rhapsody in Blue was the theme of the dance, and receiving the honors of Prom King and Queen were Jack Heyden and Tina Von Steeg. The officers of our class for this year were the following: Jack Heyden, President, Pam Derby, Vice-president, Chris Olivotti, Secretary, Pam Godfrey, Treasurer, Joan Henne, Girls' Representative, Brad Lindsey, Boys' Representative, Sharon VanFossen, Pro- gram Committee member, Sam Casson, Program Com- mittee member, Barbara Rogge, AGS Representative. We concluded our iunior year wth the election of senior class officers for the year which was to follow. ln the fall of l9611, we assumed possession of the senior benches and prepared to meet the duties and responsibilities that would be expected of us as seniors. We were involved in many activities in this, our final year. Among these were the Senior Play, the Senior Ball, Senior Ditch Day, and graduation. Our officers for this year were: Brad Lindsey as President, Bob Bryson as Vice-president, Jacque Deck as Secretary, Loretta Payton and Mike Kelly as Girls' and Boys' Represent- ative, and Kris Brooks and Tom Clarke as Program Committee members. Our senior class graduated as the largest class that had ever and probably would ever emerge from LHS. Although our first three years had passed rapidly our senior year, filled with many activities and being the the climax of our education thus far, seemed to literally fly past us. As graduation night passed and our final contact with Livermore High was made, we felt a certain amount of sadness at having our high school life and many friend- ships draw to a close. However, we graduated as a class looking forward to and prepared for the future. Our excited and hopeful anticipation of that which was before us was the predominant aspect of our regard for the point in life we had reached, Our years at Livermore High School had not only given us the knowledge to meet the future and proceed in the direc- tion which we chose, but, of equal importance, it had produced in us a sense of independence and self- reliance with which we could confidently proceed in life as responsible young adults, CLASS OF '65
