He has not only given spirit and enjoyment to our class, but he has been an outstanding teacher as well. Mr. S. has always been there, at our beck and call, to help solve the many problems that arise in any class. His charm and graciousness have earned the admiration of the entire Student Body and faculty of Livermore High. He is devoted to the welfare of the students now and is interested in helping them to achieve success in the future. To you, Uncle John, with thanks and affection, we dedicate this H1959 El Vaquerof' Judy Smith and Judy Flynn 3

FOREWORD We, The Staff of the 1959 El Vaquerof' feel that along with its recent rapid growth our school has lost much of its atmosphere of charm and humor associated with our mascot the cowboy. We have tried to restore this atmosphere by using the cowboy to symbolize the average Livermore stu- ., dent. As you turn through the pages of the yearbook, you will follow him through the various classes, clubs, activities and sports. In this way we have endeavored to present typical students in many phases of school life. The 1959 annual is larger than ever and includes many more candid shots. An original design by our Art Editor completes the new hard cover. The senior sports section is also a new feature. We would like to thank each class and organization for its cooperation, and we are especially grateful to Mr. Snod- grass, Mr. Ratcliff and Mrs. Wade, our advisors for their ff time and help. We have worked hard and long to please you with this, A the 1959 El Vaquerof' l N '25 S I Darlene Russell ' 'C Editor lx , I if 7 X, Q R, 1' If f f li, , 9 NMA
