Among The TondesT in our haze oT memories is our TirsT day aT l..U.l-LS.: SepTember IO, 1952. This day was The beginning oT Tour exciTing, wonderTul years. Qur TirsT and mosT imporTanT sTep Talren in our Treshman year was To elecT Linda Burns as class presidenT. l'ler leadership and guidance saw us suc- cessTully Through numerous acTiviTies. Among oThers were our Freshman Re- Turn, which was compleTed in a color- Tul Halloween Theme, and our Fresh- man Assembly, which was a VarieTy Show. lT's sure To be among our recol- lecTions wiTh iTs memorable Can- Can. lvlilce Greenisen led us Through a mosT exciTing sophomore year. The main evenT oT The year was our Sopho- more l-lop, and we all worked hard decoraTing The new gym wiTh ChrisT- mas Trees and a snowman. We selecTed our class rings early in The Tall and were proudly wearing Them The Tollow- ing March. We sTarTed our iunior year by elecT- ing Tony ATlague our presidenT. Un- der his leadership, we were able To puT on a mosT successTul assembly. The Theme was This ls Your liTe, Jaclc STanley. The main evenT oT The year Tor us was our Junior Carnival. The Theme was l-lawaiian T-loliday, and iT was The mosT si'ccessTul ever puT on here, boTh Tinanciallv and oTherwise. This colorful hc-nanza leTT us wiTh more Than enoucfh mcney To conTinue wiTh our numerous acTiviTies and have many happy experiences. In lvlay we changed The TradiTion and had our in- Tormal and Tun-Tilled barbecue in honor oT The seniors insTead oT The cusTomary bangueT. To conclude our junior year, we joined wiTh The seniors and puT on a mosT successTul Junior- Senior Ball. We are now The high and mighTy seniors oT L.lJ.l-l.S. ATTer Three years oT sTruggling we have Tinally reached our goal. We sTarTed our senior year by elecTing John PeTersen as our class presidenT. To iniTiaTe The school year. we gave The Freshman l?ecepTion which welcomed The Class oT '59 in True sTyle. We Then presenTed a mosT ouTsTanding and enTerTaining assem- bly. The Theme was Your T-liT Parade. The annual Senior Play, under The di- recTion oT lvliss Caroline Coolc, was l3aTher Knows l3esT.l' The play was a huge success and The senior class was able To challc up anoTher hiT on iTs scoreboard. The remaining monThs have kepT us all busy planning Tor senior picTures, announcemenTs, DiTch Day, The Junior-Senior Ball, gradua- Tion, and many more acTiviTies. All in- all, we have lcepT up wiTh The TasT pace oT our previous years.
