SENIOR HISTORY Thaf day in Sepfember, l947-a big one in fhe lives of us freshmen-we were nof foo sure of fhe recepfion we would receive, buf we were sure fhaf fhere would be no inifiafion. We were eager fo acquainf ourselves wifh fhe school and everyone in fhe school. Then fhe seniors enferfained us af fhe Freshman Recepfion, and 'ro show fhem fhaf we really appreciafed fheir friendliness. we gave fhe Freshman Refurn. Our firsf presidenf was Wallace Keegan, who sfeered us fhrough our freshman year and assem- bly. Under fhe guidance of Jim l-lolm, our sophomore presidenf, we sponsored fhe Sophomore l-lop and fhe Sophomore Assembly. ln fhe spring of fhe second year, we ordered our class rings and fhen pracfically held ouribreafh unfil fhey arrived. Our rings arrived during fhe firsf weelc of our iunior year. We felf fhen fhaf we were indeed full- fledged upperclassmen and sfarfed ouf on a year full of imporfanf evenfs, under fhe leadership of Dick Schaeffer. Firsf came fhe Junior Carnival, which was held for fhe firsf fime in fhe New Gym and was one of 'rhe mosf successful ever held. Our Junior Prom was held in fhe Veferan's Memorial Building and had for ifs fheme Sfairway fo fhe Sfarsf' A very successful iunior year was concluded wifh The Junior-Senior Banquef.
