Anita Leroy 101165 Shilling SWEETHEART BEAU OF THE OF THE BOYS' GIRLS' BASKETBALL BASKETBALL TEAM ' TEAM BOYS' BASKETBALL This year the boys' basketball team, coached by Iim Delaune, has had a very commendable season. The Eagles have won thirty-four games and lost ten. The team has entered eight tournaments. They placed first in the Livingston Parish Fair, Doyle, and Dis- trict Tournaments. They ranked second in the other six, The Eagles were seed- ed fifth in the Wedge Kyes Tourna- ment, but took a very deserved second. At the time of this publication, the team is looking forward to entering State, The team will lose three first- string players - Donald Lee Ott, Gerald Pruitt, and Leroy Shilling, Although these three will be gone, the remaining players are looking forward to next year's season. GIRLS' BASKETBALL With a lot of help from their coach, Miss Dixie Dixon, the girls have a basketball team for the first time in quite a few years. The girls will be minus two Seniors next year, Janice O'Nea1 and Irene Ma- son. Their teammates will surely miss them. In January the team entered a t0lll'- nament at Central, and though they lost their game for fourth place by three points, they won the sportsmanship award, With a little experience behind them, and with the team striving for improvement, perhaps next year the girls will have a more successful season.
