22 THE RECORD D: Swell, but what's Bet doing? B: She's also at the club. When she first came here, she was the chief food inspector. You know she got an MS degree in home economics in college but the testing of so much food gave her a a physique that was better suited for her new job. They needed some- one to keep the club in order so she took over the job as head bouncer. D: CLooks at watchj Great guns! My trial starts in about five minutes so I haven't time for another drink. Come over to the court house with me and we'll finish our talk later. B: Say that's a good idea. Maybe I can talk to Jack and cheer him up a little. After all more than one person ends up in jail. D: Not with C. A. on the defense, young woman.
